Our story

Homes deserve better-made things.

WK Home began in a tiny Lisbon apartment with one question: why is so much of what fills our homes made to be replaced? We set out to find the makers who still do it properly — and to bring what they make to people who will keep it for life.

Since 2018

Slow by design, not by accident

We started by driving across Portugal and Spain in a borrowed van, knocking on workshop doors and asking to see what the makers were most proud of. Those first 12 workshops became our foundation — and most of them are still partners today.

Every piece we sell is chosen the same way: we live with samples at home, test them through real seasons of use, and only then offer them to you. If we wouldn't keep it ourselves, it doesn't make the catalogue.

That's why our collection is deliberately small. Around 300 pieces, refreshed slowly, each one earning its place.

What we stand for

Three promises, kept daily

01

Materials you can trust

FSC-certified oak, European flax linen, lead-free stoneware glazes. We publish the origin of every material on each product page — no fine print, no surprises.

02

Makers paid fairly

Our workshops set their own prices. We never squeeze margins on their backs — instead we keep our own slim and sell fewer, better pieces.

03

Repair over replace

Every piece is backed by a 2-year warranty, spare parts and free care guides. When something wears, we help you fix it — not replace it.

The journey

How WK Home grew

2018

A borrowed van and a question

Founder Marta Reis leaves her design job and spends six months visiting 60 workshops across Iberia, documenting how traditional home goods are actually made.

2019

The first catalogue

WK Home launches with 42 pieces from 12 workshops. The first shipment sells out in nine days — packed by hand in Marta's living room.

2021

Beyond Iberia

Partners join from Japan, France and the UK. We open our first physical showroom in Porto and introduce the free styling service.

2024

The repair programme

We launch spare parts for every furniture line and a nationwide repair network. Over 4,000 pieces restored in the first year.

Today

40+ workshops, one standard

25,000 homes styled, 300 pieces curated, and the same question still drives us: will this earn its place in a real home?
